Our passion

Inspired by the iconic designs and style of mid-century furnishings and interiors, Twist and Shout Design has a mission to recreate beautiful chairs and lampshades which bring a room to life.

Drawing on a range of interests from fine art to interior decorating and dress making, we have a particular passion for 50s and 60s design, an era of clean lines and use of space in fabric patterns. We are fascinated by the history of household items and the social and economic factors that influence design and materials. As we uncover each piece of furniture, it usually has a story to tell through the use of fabrics, materials and craftsmanship – it is a wonderful insight into past lives and values.
